Kaitlan Phelps joined Vines Architecture in 2016 and is currently focused on the Johns Hopkins University Henrietta Lacks Building. Her previous experience includes four years with the award winning Freelon Group where she worked on a variety of large scale public projects including the Durham Human Services Complex, Durham County Public Library's North Branch and the Harvey B Gantt Center.
Kaitlan discovered her passion for design at an early age and attended Meredith College where she was the recipient of the Sandra Shelton Graham Scholarship in Interior Design. Since graduation, she has built a reputation for elevating the interior of public buildings - creating aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces that complement and enhance the architecture. She is also incredibly collaborative and client-focused, working alongside project managers and designers to ensure every last detail is of highest quality. When Kaitlan is involved, you'll find common threads throughout the building, creating a complete thought that unites the interior space with the architectural design.
Kaitlan's entrepreneurial spirit and design intuitiveness was recognized by industry leaders in 2008 when she was presented with two DOC Awards by Ultron - the Product Category Winner and Designers Choice Category Winner for the Adorn Carpet Collection she created for Mannington Commercial.
